Pumping Concrete Below Ground Level
Underground and basement concrete pours present a placement challenge that direct chute delivery simply cannot solve. A basement slab is, by definition, below the level of the street — which means the concrete truck's chute cannot reach it. Crane-lifted concrete buckets are one alternative; a pump is the other — and in almost every case, the pump is faster, cleaner, and more cost-effective for the volumes involved in residential and light commercial basement work.
Our line pump pushes concrete downward through the hose to the basement or underground level. The pump truck remains at street or ground level, and the hose is run down the excavation access ramp, through a window opening, or down any available vertical path to the placement point below. Concrete flows under pump pressure, not gravity, so the vertical component presents no performance issue within typical residential and commercial basement depths.

For underground pours, we need a clear path for the hose from ground level to the basement floor. This is typically via the construction access ramp, a stairwell opening, or a lift shaft. On residential projects, the excavation is usually accessible via a temporary ramp.
